3D Printed Solo Games Update
Following on from my previous post about my 3D printable solo puzzle game, Step Count, I've been taking some previous 3D puzzles I've made and transplanting them into small travel cases too. All the 3D files for games featured in the post and be downloaded here.
The first game I put together was based of an idea I saw someone making on YouTube, where they put together a dungeon crawler game based on those sliding puzzles you used to get as a kid. The original designer made it into a keyring, which I thought was a great idea. However, he didn't come up with any rules for his design, so once I have redesigned it to fit inside the travel case, I spent a number of weeks playtesting some rules. The rules still need a bit of polish to iron out a few issues but it's turning out to be a nice little dugeon crawling logic puzzle game.
The next game I designed was a simple solitaire-style game with trees as the main game pieces. As the idea is to clear the board, the game is based around the concept of deforestation where all the trees have to be felled in order to win the game. I'm now in the process of using the single wildlife piece, in this instance the owl, to put up a fight against the deforestation process.
The third game in this little series of travel games is based on a chess puzzle game that I found and printed for one of my chess-obsessed students a few years ago. I've always kept this puzzle as you can control the difficulty of this lofic puzzle and so it seemed perfect to be made into this travel game collection.
The final game is of course the first game that kicked all this off, Step Count. I've tidied up the design a little size I originally put it together and have printed it out many times for family and friends to play. This is still my favourite out of all the games in this series and I especially love how it looks when printed out in blue and green as in the photo below.
Please feel free to download the files and make your own but don't forget that the rules for the dungeon crawler aren't finished yet.
